How to enjoy your caviar this coming Thanksgiving & Holiday Season
Share
It’s beginning to look a lot like... As soon as Halloween decorations come down, stress levels about gifts for the holiday season kick in.
At CaviarExpress, we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality, sustainable caviar shipped overnight to arrive fresh at your doorsteps. And as the gift giving and holiday party season will soon ramp up, we’d like to remind you that a gift box or baskets make excellent gift for friends and families, as well as those high-performing associates on your team or a company-wide gift set to add a touch of luxury for that year end celebration.
If you were to ask, I’d tell you that the finest caviars in the world are to be indulged by themselves. The uniquely rich, nutty, and salty flavors are truly what luxury should taste like. But, everyone has different tastes, and that’s why we offer caviar strains from the bold, flavorful Beluga Hybrid, to a mild Iranian Karaburun Ossetra caviar. Here are some additional tips we have for you to enjoy your caviar that will complement the unique taste.
Crème Fraîche
The mild and creamy taste of Crème Fraîche, along with the airy texture, makes it a fantastic compliment to caviar. The soft structure makes a perfect cradle for the small and delicate roes, and the slightly acidic culture adds an extra layer of flavor to compliment the naturally salty nature of caviar.
Blini
These miniature savory “crepes” make for a perfect delivery device for your caviar. Again, the mild nature of the blini does not overwhelm the wonderful and unique taste of caviar, and the small size provides a good proportional serving size. For Thanksgiving, holiday parties or gatherings, a tray of blinis topped with a small dollop of Crème Fraîche and a generous spoonful of fine caviar on top would make a wonderful appetizer.
Smoke meat/fish
The mild fish flavor of salmon, with a hint of smokiness, blends well with the natural fish flavor of the sturgeon roe. Typically a high-end cured and/or smoked meat, like a nice Jamón Ibérico or a guanciale, with their higher fat content and salty flavor, marries well with caviar as well, providing a “surf and turf” layout.
As a rule of thumb, we always recommend a naked taste of the caviar first... for your own edification. But whatever you pair with your caviar, a mild flavor is suggested to bring out the best of the caviar, or have complimentary flavor profiles and textures. Lightly salted cracker and neutral flavored alcohol (vodka) will make a celebratory night that is much more special.
Bon Appetit!
